The most important and highest moral
standing is the truth. Being truthful is when something is in its purest form
with nothing to blemish its meaning. It does not hide beneath anything and it
does not have to manipulate itself. In the world we live in today, not many
people are truthful to themselves as we all try to conform to what others want.
Throughout time one must always have faith that what the other person is
telling you is truthful. By putting up a front it makes it hard to gain trust.
A key argument many people have for this is well sometimes the truth hurts and while
this is true, would you rather know the truth right off the bat and be able to
work through it all or build upon lies? It’s like saying “let’s build a house
on an unsteady foundation and then once one of the rocks (lies) comes out the
entire structure is unsecure and one could say the house (relationship) will
crumble (fail). I would say that it is safe to say that without trust the world
would be nothing. How could we really tell what anything is if all we base
things on are lies?
1) All lies are fake
2) All knowledge is lies
3) Therefore all knowledge is fake
That is the base that we would
have to live by and never know what anything really means. This is why to me,
the truth is the center of the universe and one cannot exist without it. Not
only does it impact our knowledge but it also affects our emotions. One can be
having the time of our life and if a lie is found to have been told that can be
so detrimental and hurtful that lies affect us negatively.
1) All lies are bad
2) All bad is hurtful
3) Therefore all lies are hurtful
1) All virtues are knowledge

Hey Erin,
ReplyDeleteI like how you virtue is trust. I also like how you used the example of the house. It is very important to live in a world of trust.
